Amy Cochran

LCMHC

Life can be tough. Connection helps. Stay connected. Hold tight to hope. Take care of yourself...your WHOLE self.

Amy (M.A., M.Ed., NCC, LCMHCA) is a proud native of the Blue Ridge region with an open mind from years of exposure to diverse geographies and people through business and personal travel, collaborative group work and study, extensive reading, and global creative community connections. She is a graduate of Limestone College (B.S. Business Administration), East Carolina University (M.A. English - Professional and Technical Communication), and NC State University (M.Ed. Counseling).

She is certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors and licensed in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA). Amy employs an eclectic counseling style that is flexible to each client’s needs. Her integrative counseling approach has a positive orientation that focuses on the present and future more than the past, solutions more than problems, and each individual’s strengths rather than weaknesses. Depending upon the individual client, this integrative approach may include one or more of the following methods: cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness techniques, existential therapy, and/or expressive arts therapy. Amy is a believer in the power of love, hope, acceptance, community, and holistic approaches to well-being.

“Hope is the thing with feathers, That perches in the soul, And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all.” -Emily Dickinson
