Jerry Wease MA, Ed.S, LCMHCS, LCAS, CCS, NCC from Rutherford County, NC. A graduate of Gardner-Webb University with his Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling and Education Specialist, Jerry has provided clinical services and advocacy in many roles across the state— from enhanced treatment services, clinical supervision, community advocacy, and teaching at the college level.

After being appointed by NC Governor Roy Cooper, Jerry was recently sworn in as Commissioner on the NC Commission for Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services.

Jerry has worked with adolescents and adults with mental health and substance use disorders and has been awarded a commendation from NC Department of Public Safety for his work and was awarded Recovery Ally of the Year. Jerry primarily endorses a cognitive behavioral approach. Jerry presents at regional and state conferences, and frequently speaks at events on co-occurring disorders treatment and recovery.

Jerry believes that recovery is possible for individuals, families, and communities.
